Do you want to participate in a future Olympic Games?

Never too late to chase Michael Phelps!

The summer has flown by, but you know the warm weather will continue to give us more opportunities to enjoy ourselves outdoors. Many of those will be places in and around the water, so it’s a good time to refresh ourselves on the importance of “Know Before You Go!®.”

See our infographics here: https://www.swimstrongfoundation.org/know-before-you-go/.

Remember:

  • It only takes two minutes and two inches of water to drown.
  • More than half of fatal and non-fatal drownings among those 15 and older occurred in natural water settings.
  • Drowning is the leading cause of death for autistic children and for those under the age of five with many fatalities happening in their own homes (bath tubs, toilets, buckets, wells, garden ponds and swimming pools).
  • Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children ages one through 14, so don’t leave young children unattended near water and don’t trust a child’s life to another child…..even an older sibling.
  • Never swim alone and always do so where lifeguards are present.
  • Swim lessons can reduce childhood drowning by 88 percent.

Swimming is much more than a recreational activity; it’s a life-saving skill. And it’s also the best total body workout you can do.

It’s never too late to learn to swim…. register for our Sept- Oct classes Now!
