How can we get proper life jackets to be worn by all who make a living on this lake?
My trip to East Africa was filled with many jaw dropping experiences via my safari and jungle treks. But I was troubled to learn that Africa, as a continent had the most drownings globally, with more than 20%. The “hotspot” of drowning is at Lake Victoria where more than 500 people die due to drowning each year. These are not recreational swimmers, but rather people who make their livelihood on the lake by fishing or transporting goods. Our dry side water safety training “Know Before You Go®” is being shared with two organizations in that area. How can we get proper life jackets to be worn by all who make a living on this lake?
