New safety terminology to rule the pool

While I appreciate the effort to further clarify “water safety” and related terms, I believe that water safety education needs to go much further. It is also about educating people as to the environment they are entering into when they access the water. We had 6 drownings so far in NYC, none of which had to happen. As a matter of fact, 98% of drownings do not have to happen!

Education, common sense, good judgment and strong skills will go a long way to reducing these needless tragedies.
